OAMR President Scott Stauffer

Welcome to the Oregon Association of Municipal Recorders website!

Since 1983, OAMR has been all about lifting each other up by supporting municipal recorders, clerks, and administrative professionals in cities and districts across Oregon. From keeping up to date on the ever-evolving world of records management, ensuring that our local governments comply with state regulations, and providing a place for our members to connect – OAMR is your place to find support and guidance from your neighboring local government professionals.

The role of a municipal clerk, or recorder, has a long history dating back centuries. In early colonial America, town clerks were responsible for keeping records of births, deaths, marriages, land transactions, and other vital information. Over time, recorder duties expanded to include managing elections, issuing licenses, and overseeing personnel and finances. Today, municipal recorders continue to play a crucial role in the governance and administration of local communities in Oregon and around the world.

Here at oamr.org you will find valuable resources, networking opportunities, and a chance to connect with like-minded public service professionals. I encourage you to explore our website and discover how we can assist you in your daily work. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming meetings, events, or conference – as we continue to lift each other up!

Welcome to OAMR!
